You simply cannot miss a visit to
the cultural village of Staphorst when you visit
us. The characteristic farms and the people in
traditional costume are part of the Staphorst

Staphorster Forest
Located in the idyllic Reestdal,
a living landscape where people live and work in
harmony with their surroundings.
A beautiful walking area, with alternating
routes alongside the meandering Reest river.
There is an educative children’s walking route
in the national forest: The Zwartemezen route.

Natural reserves ‘the Wieden’
and ‘the Weerribben’De kop van The
Overijssel ‘top’ is renowned for the vast amount
of water. The surroundings are characterised by
beautiful lakes, an abundance of waterways, and
reed landscapes. You can enjoy this stunning
nature in ‘the Wieden’ and 'the Weerribben’
natural reserves. The waterway village of
Giethoorn is within cycling distance of
Eben-Haezer.

Meppel
Meppel is a wonderful retail
city, with stores such as V&D, Hema, and
Blokker. There are also numerous cafes and
restaurants in Meppel, and a sub-tropical
swimming pool, and a cinema.

Various museums
There are various tourist
locations in the area with a wide range of
museums. The Printing Museum in Meppel, Museum
Schoonewelle in Zwartsluis, and there are also
various museums in Giethoorn.

Amusement parks
The Noorderdierenpark (zoo) in
Emmen is less than an hour’s drive away.
Ponypark Slagharen and Avonturenpark Hellendoorn
are also in the region.
